Hello, I'm Christine Meis, founder of Tech & Travel Companion Senior Services.
My passion for helping seniors comes from a lifetime of experience, curiosity, and a genuine desire to help others remain independent and engaged in life.
I grew up in Germany and attended business school, where I was first introduced to computers and basic programming — long before technology became part of everyday life. I was always fascinated by learning how things worked and figuring out how to solve problems.
After moving to the United States in 1999, I spent many years working for Hewlett Packard in a variety of roles where technology was central to everything. Along the way I became the person friends and family always called when they needed help with their devices — and I loved every minute of it.
My connection to seniors runs much deeper than technology. Raised by my grandmother, I have always had a special appreciation for older adults and genuinely enjoy helping them stay connected, confident, and independent.
One of my most meaningful experiences was helping my 88-year-old father-in-law travel through Europe after he suffered a stroke. Careful planning, accessibility arrangements, and close attention to detail made it possible for him to enjoy experiences he might otherwise have missed entirely.
Tech & Travel Companion combines my love of technology, travel, problem-solving, and people — and my genuine belief that every senior deserves to feel confident and capable in today's world.
